Our Crops

Watermelon

We grow about 600 acres of seedless watermelon each year. It is all hand-picked and packaged right on our farm. Our watermelons are unloaded in to cool, clean spring water that is on our farm. This not only allows for gently unloading but immediately cools the watermelons so that they remain sweet and crisp. We harvest watermelon from July 10th to September 20th. We ship all over the west including Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. Look for our Hagermelon brand watermelons during that time each year.

Pumpkins / Winter Squash

We grow about 300 acres of jack o lantern pumpkins for Halloween carving and fall decoration. Unlike most growers, we grow them on drip irrigation to grow a higher quality, better looking pumpkin. All our pumpkins are washed and sorted to make sure they look their best. We ship our pumpkins in a decorative bin. Pumpkin harvest starts as early as September 1st and goes until Halloween. We also grow acorn squash, butternut squash, spaghetti squash, pie pumpkins, white pumpkins, warty pumpkins, and Cinderella pumpkins. We ship all over the western US. Look for our Hager-Jack pumpkins in stores.

Sweet Corn

We harvest sweet corn through the months of July, August and September and ship throughout the western United States. It is all picked in the early morning when it is the coolest and then brought to our warehouse where it is unloaded into fresh spring water to start the cooling process. Then it is sorted, graded, and packed with 4 dozen per case. After that, the case is loaded with ice and place in a cold room awaiting shipping. We can cool our sweet corn faster than most farms because of the spring water on our farm. This means that the corn stays sweeter longer giving the customer corn that tastes fresh from the garden.
